On this Mother’s Day
I just want to say
How I love you so
Even though it don’t always show
I appreciate you for who you are
You are important to me
And our entire family
We tend to hold our feelings inside
And sometimes they just hide
We don’t talk as much as we should
Or even as much as we could
Our relationship is not all that traditional
But that doesn’t make it any less official
We aren’t all up in each other’s drama
But I am really thankful that you are my Mama
Happy Mother’s Day to you
Hope your day is bright and skies are blue
Hope you have a day full of fun
Relaxing and basking in the sun
I am thankful for all you have done
While raising me your favorite one.
I hope your life will be blessed
And you will allow God to relieve your stress
I pray for his blessings upon your life
And to surround you and protect you every night
I am praying for him to invade your space
From the front to the back of every place
And pour out his spirit on you like never before
And bless your life from his heavenly store.
A mother’s love more precious than gold
Even when your children grow old
Giving up a piece of your heart
Helping them to make their start
Always wanting what’s best for them
Helping to steer their life toward him
Praying for them day and night
Wanting for them to get it right
Wanting to protect with all her might
Fighting against evil forces
To help them make better choices
Praying they will always stay
In the will of God every day
A living legacy she hopes they’ll be
And live with him thru eternity
When life seems unfair
Sit in a chair
And remember you are blessed
When your hair is a mess
And there’s clutter on your desk
Remember you are blessed
When no one calls you on the phone
And you are all alone
Remember you are blessed
When things don’t go right
And your clothes are too tight
Remember you are blessed
When your body is in pain
And you think you have nothing to gain
Remember you are blessed
When life goes to fast
And you run out of gas
Remember you are blessed
When your spirit is broken
And you have no gifts to open
Remember you are blessed
When you feel dismayed
Because you were betrayed
Remember you are blessed
When your loved ones move on
And you think you can’t go on
Remember you are blessed
When you life slips away
And Jesus takes you home
Forever you’ll be blessed
I write because I feel.
Sometimes it’s my way of keeping it real.
It’s my way of expressing my love,
My hurt, my pain and confusion.
My heart is so full of words;
Many of them will never be heard.
I want to share my heart with others,
But it is so hard to let them look in,
Because there is so much so deep within.
Sometimes the tears won’t flow,
But the words will fall like snow.
The pain will surface in a sentence,
And the guilt will cause repentance.
The anguish will surface on the page,
And the grief will move to a new stage.
The anger will show on my face,
Clear as when the day breaks.
The happiness and joy will come out.
Maybe one day I will shout,
All of my troubles to the world,
But for now they remain in a book,
For anyone else to look.
You can read me thru my poems,
Because they cut straight down to my loins.
I want to open up my heart and let the world look in,
But I only want you to see Christ within.
A pain and hurt that only God can heal
I still can’t believe it is real
The turmoil and strife
That has come to light
Why is all I can say?
I have tried my best
I have tried to pray
I can’t stop the words, the lies or tales
I can only know that God never fails
My heart is broken in so many pieces
My nerves are shot and my body is shaken
I can only hope this is a dream
And I will soon awaken
How can someone you love
Cause so much heart-break and pain
I can’t begin to understand
I just have to put it all in God’s hands
It is so hard to let it go
It is so hard to move on
The pain is still there
It would be so much easier if I didn’t care
God you have to take over
I need you to invade my life
I need you to mend my heart
I need you to erase the hurt
I need you to heal my mind
So I can leave this all behind.
A troubled heart
A troubled mind
You must Command Satan to get behind
Command him to leave the scene
Its time for God to make you clean
The time is now for the pain to stop
Your getting ready to harvest your crop
The worry and dread has to go away
Get on your knees and begin to pray
Your seed was sewn long ago
Now the devil has got to go
Because God’s showed up to steal this show
Jesus watches us all the time
Wanting us to follow
In his lines
Trying not to hurt each other
We choose our words and speak softly
And leave other words unspoken
Some wounds should never be opened
You make a choice everyday
To whom you’ll speak and what you’ll say
Who do you worship?
Is it God or is it baal?
Do you really know where you’re going?
Is it heaven or is it hell?
Do you build up or do you belittle?
Do you still cuss even a little?
Do you still sip or puff, puff, puff?
And have you really had enough?
Does your life reflect a change?
Does going to the bar even feel strange?
Do your eyes still wander in lust?
Are you someone others can trust?
Does Jesus blood still flow through your veins?
Or has it been diluted by the pills for your pain?
Do you still have that same attitude?
You call it outspoken but it’s really rude?
Do you see someone in need and pass on by?
Do you only tell little white lies?
Do you ridicule and make fun?
Do you hear God’s word and turn around and run?
Are you sure salvation is what you got?
