I love you more than I can say
I thank God for you everyday
You are the most awesome husband of all
When I am with you I have a ball
You treat me with love and tender care
You are always giving and quick to share
I want you to know how special you are
And never take for granted your precious heart
You are funny, sweet and true
God blessed me greatly when he gave me you
His Love
On Valentine’s Day we celebrate love
Hoping for a sweet surprise
From the one who caught our eyes
Gifts from those who come and go
And sometimes never show
But I want to tell you all about
The one who you should never doubt
God’s love is the greatest gift
Greater than any valentine heart
A strong love that will never depart
The one who will hold your heart so dear
Casting away all your fears
A steadfast love that never ends
One that will hold you all the time
And will always be there in the time of trouble
Pulling you out from all the rubble
Showing up when you need him most
Loving you thru the good times and bad
Being the best friend you ever had
A love so strong he died for you
So much more than anyone else can do
So as you long for a special surprise
Always remember the one who died
He will always be by your side
He loves you more than you could ever imagine
His gift of love is the greatest gift of all
So if you don’t get any flowers or candy
Remember you are loved
By the one who made Heaven above
Pray that those who receive the gifts
Of the chocolate hearts and kisses
Know about the love of Christ
And make him the love of their life
Wilson County’s Best
Our first responders are often overlooked.
Many times putting their own lives on the hook.
Spending many days and nights in danger.
Always there to help a stranger.
A career choice that is in your blood.
The first to arrive at an accident, fire or flood.
Often times leaving their own families alone,
To come to the aid of a soul, with a heart of stone.
Darker nights many others never see,
The faces covered with anguish, pain and tragedy.
Feeling the pain as if it was their own.
Helping the hurt to not feel alone.
Keeping us safe in the middle of the night,
Fighting fires with all their might.
Working to save lives, protect and serve.
Never receiving the recognition they deserve.
We appreciate every sacrifice you make.
We notice all you do to keep us safe.
We thank you for your heart of compassion.
We are proud of the courage you show.
We appreciate you more than you know.
We take this moment to say thank you,
To honor you for the work you do.
We have so much to be thankful for.
Those who give and ask for nothing more.
The ones who often go without rest.
The ones who are “Wilson County’s Best.”
People like you it is plain to see,
That is why Wilson County is the place to be!
White Horse
Angels watching from the sky.
Baby birds begin to fly.
Pretty flowers by the road,
Your precious love never grows old.
Many days spent down here,
Waiting for you to appear.
Watching, praying, waiting for,
You to arrive on that white horse.
The signs all show you’ll be here soon,
To take us with you over the moon.
It will happen in the twinkling of an eye,
And we will bid this world goodbye.
The Joy of the Lord
The joy of the Lord is strength to my soul.
He walks with me on life’s roads.
He is my strong tower and my rock.
He makes me feel like queen of the block.
My one and only on whom I can depend.
He will be with me until the end.
The one who holds me in his arms.
He protects me from life’s storms.
He is the alpha and the omega,
The great and mighty one.
He causes my life to be fun.
The King of kings and Lord of lords.
The Author and the Finisher.
The one who supplies all my needs,
Even the little birds he feeds.
He causes me to be the victor and not the victim.
He has complete control of His kingdom.
He is my strength in the time of trouble.
Digging me out from life’s rubble.
Reminding me of His strength each day,
And helping me to walk on life’s way.
Representative
If you are saved,
You must behave.
Everywhere you go you are watched,
People making sure you will do,
What you say you have in you.
You are a representative of Christ,
He sent you here to be fishers of men.
Telling others to ask him to enter in.
Conduct yourself the way he says in his word.
Never allowing something to be heard.
That is not edifying to another life,
Or stirring up strife.
Always be on guard,
Never falling too hard.
Watching out for Satan every day,
Asking God for wisdom when you pray.
Always remember why you were sent,
And make sure everyone knows,
Who you represent.
Blizzard of 2016
I am about to be crazed
This is too much even for an introvert
Too cold to go outside
Tired of Twitter and Facebook
Watched every episode of Island Life
Dreaming of the sand and the sun
Wishing I was somewhere having fun
I have cooked everything in the house
Tired of sitting on the couch
So many things I could be doing
But nothing can get me motivated
My closets need to be cleaned
My cabinets are a mess
But for two days I haven’t even got dressed
I am so tired of sitting here
But it is so very clear
That I am not going to be productive
Church has been cancelled for tomorrow
So another day will be wasted
And everything in my house will be tasted
Merry Christmas
We wanted to take to time to say,
How much we love you every day.
We are so grateful when we ask you to pray.
Each of you are a special gift,
Given to us from God above.
A church family filled with God’s love.
We are blessed with many different types,
Some with compliments others with gripes.
Each one is special in their own way,
Some with black hair others with gray.
We have a Grinch and a Santa or two,
But what we see most is Jesus in you.
We hope you have a Merry Christmas,
And a Happy New Year
And always remember God is near.
So tie on your feed sack and have some roast beast,
And enjoy your time at your families feast.
We love and appreciate all that you are,
And hope that you know you are in our hearts.
We hope your stockings are hung,
And all your money is not spent.
And we hope you will remember,
Sharon, Whitney and Brent.
Much love and Blessings,

The Church House Sinner
Twas the day before Christmas service at the house of the Lord… I went to help out because I was bored
Everyone was preparing for the Christmas program, and I wanted to make sure they seen me around
The same old crew headed thru that door, to begin what has become their weekly chore
I didn’t realize there was so much work to be done, and everyone else was ready for fun
The same people were there happily cleaning, while all the others were still in bed dreaming
I was complaining that the music’s to loud, and then I began asking, where is the crowd?
Why is the sanctuary always so cold? and how did our congregation get so old?
Then I was gossiping about my brother and oh how I need to tell my mother
The day before Christmas service when all is in array. I was acting as if, it was only a play
When suddenly Sunday morning came in like a flash, and I turned into a saint in a dash
Painting my face and arranging my hair, oh my goodness what shall I wear?
Entering the building all glitter and glam, hoping not to expose the hidden sham
I head to the front just to be seen, and notice the choir is wearing blue jeans
Don’t tell me that’s all they can afford, I have seen that giant tattoo of the Lord
I hope that pastor don’t preach too long, I am so tired of that same old song
Look at him over there raising his hand, I am so tired of having to stand
The praise and worship is on spot today, and then congregation begins to pray
The holy spirit floods to the back door, and all the masks fall to the floor
All of God’s glory shining on their faces, the shouting and praising
The clapping and hand raising
Then my brother got happy and began to run, and I was in the bathroom missing the fun
Now the service is in full speed, and I am scrolling thru my Facebook feed
I slipped off my shoes so I could tap a nap, why does everyone have to clap?
I nodded again and nearly fell from my chair, and now I’m staring at the pastor’s hair
Is it real or is it fake? Oh, how I wish he would hurry… I’m gonna be late
When suddenly there arose such a clatter, I jumped from the pew to see whats the matter
The noise was coming from the nursery room, I just snarled and continued on in my gloom
The children were laughing and playing so hard, you could hear them out in the churchyard
I remembered something I heard the pastor say, during the scripture reading today
I had spent so much time finding fault in you, it finally occurred to me I’m a hypocrite too
I went back to my pew and begin to pray, and then I decided to repent today
I ran to the altar to receive God’s grace, now you can see him all over my face
Suddenly everyone else becomes beautiful too, Ain’t it amazing what God can do
Now my Christmas is all jolly and bright, Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night
Christmas Gem
Spending hours shopping for gifts.
Stores open every shift.
Buying presents and gifts galore.
Always wanting more and more.
The stress of the season in every place.
Worry and doubt fill your face.
Spending your time and every dime,
Waiting in all those lines.
While pain and anguish fill your life.
You can barely sleep at night.
Your insides are shaking.
Your heart is breaking.
While all along Jesus is there,
Longing for you to care.
He wants you to remember,
He is the reason,
For this Christmas season.
He wants you to know,
This is his show, and you need to step back,
And let it go.
It is all about him.
The birth of Christ.
He wants to take over your life.
It is not about the gifts you give.
It’s not about where you live.
It is all about the one who died,
So that we could all survive.
It is all about the baby boy.
Born in a manger full of joy.
It is all about spending time with him,
And becoming strong and filled within.
The more you pray, the more he’ll stay,
Closer by your side each day.
Christmas is all about Christ.
It is not about, your own life.
Take a step away, kneel and pray,
And begin to thank him, for each day.
You will soon realize.
Jesus is the only prize.
It is all about him.
He is our one and only Christmas gem.
