Heaven’s Gate

A beautiful rainbow touching the ground.
The signs of God’s promises all around.

You will never find that pot of gold,
But if you let the potter mold.

You will receive a precious crown,
Of the finest jewels around.

A mansion in heaven we will see,
Nothing more beautiful will ever be.

We will kneel at Jesus’ feet.
Singing praises that can’t be beat.

We will see our friends up there,
A heavenly party of no compare.

Now is not the time to wait,
I want to meet you at Heaven’s gate.

He is Risen

An Easter story that never grows old
Buried in a tomb in his grave clothes
He arose from the grave on that third day
So that all of our sins could be washed away
Today is not about a bunny or an egg
A basket of chocolate or an Easter dinner
It is all about saving the sinner
It is not about singing Peter cotton tail
It is all about saving us from hell
It is about our Savior who died for our sins
Only wanting us to allow him in
It is about our choice to ask him into our hearts
And make him the leader of our life
Not just to serve on Christmas and Easter
But choose him each day when we wake
And get his advice in all decisions we make
Without Jesus in our hearts
Our lives are empty just like that tomb
Without him being head of our life
We face adversary and strife
Without the whole armor of God
We need his shield and sword
To fight every battle of this world
Make today the day of change
And let him take your life and rearrange
If you searched yourself today
And Jesus looked into your heart
Will he say enter in or tell you to depart?

Safe Haven of Love

My church family is so full of love
Each one on assignment from heaven above
A beautiful building with so much history
But it is the people inside that matter to me
You make me feel welcome when I come thru the door
And you make me instantly begin to want more
It is a place to find refuge and peace
A place for advice, encouragement and conviction
And sometimes good food and fellowship in the kitchen
You love me in spite of myself most days
And you are always ready to give the Lord praise
A church full of people who I love
I want you all to be blessed from above
You are closer to me than my own family
I am so thankful that God gave you to me
God puts special people in our paths
If only we would recognize what we have
We are so blessed to be a part of this place
I want to be faithful whatever it takes
I want to endure until the end
So, that my savior will say “enter in”
I want you all to join me there
Nothing here will ever compare
But while I am still here I want to enjoy this life with you
And I want you to know your special too
To me this church is a safe haven of love
Guided and directed from God above

Favor

Everyone wants to find favor,
Some in parents,
Some in neighbors.

We want to be liked by our friends.
We want everyone to forget our sins.

We want the world to know who we are.
We want to shine brighter than a star.

We want to have all the wealth and fame.
We want to win every game.

Our purpose is not in the world’s things.
It is far bigger than what this life brings.
We are here to serve Christ the King.

We should want to please only him,
Not Jimmy, Tom and Uncle Jim.

The shiny things will not bring us joy.
Diamonds, pearls and every toy.

These things will never be enough;
Our life will continue to be tough.

We must seek first the kingdom of God,
To receive the peace within our hearts.

The joy of the Lord will never fail,
As long as to him we continue to travail.

He will always provide what we need,
When he is the only thing we seek.

Then we will find what we are looking for,
And we will find the favor of our Lord.

Believe with your Mouth

We say we believe with our mouth,
But is that really what comes out?

Do we only show it with our tongue?
And act like we just stepped in dung,
Are we only trying to cover the smell?
Instead of washing ourselves clean in Jesus well?

Do we put off the sweet aroma of Christ?
Or are we putting on spray to cover our life?

Are our hearts as cold as ice?
As behind our smile we try to hide?

The darkness of sin we are ashamed of.
Have we grown waxed cold of our first love?

Have we run away from the flock?
Have we forgotten God’s time clock?

Are we headed for the pits of hell?
Scared that someone else will tell?

Are we slipping and staying in sin?
And not allowing Jesus to come back in?

Again we say we believe with our mouth.
But I am asking you is that what really comes out?

Raining on Your Head

Why are you always complaining?
It’s like over your head it’s always raining.

Nothing is ever good enough.
No one can ever get it quite right.
It is doom and gloom every night.

Yelling and belly aching is your game.
You think everyone else is lame.

Don’t you know there is power in your words?
The devil is storing all your gripes in his reserve.

Every complaint you have,
He is waiting for an opportunity to grab.
Waiting in the darkness to take a stab,
At all those things that bother you,
Trying to keep you sad and blue.

Choose each morning to rise up happy,
Even if your hair looks a little crappy.

Speak your words with tender care.
Take your smile out and share.

Be a light to someone today.
Get on your knees and pray.

Ask God to take away your gripe.
Ask him to fill you with his light.

An Encouraging Word

An encouraging word
Needs to be heard by every ear that you hold dear
Sometimes life knocks you down
And you roll on the ground
As you start to cry
Someone walks by
And helps you up again
Tells you to look to him
When times are grim
Takes the time to stop and pray
And helps you make it thru the day
That could be enough
For you not to give up
Your life could be a mess
And you need to be blessed
By something so small
As a hug or a smile
Or sit for a while
Until you are better

My Eye Candy

You are my very own eye candy,
You are special and pretty handy.

You make me laugh and smile a lot,
I think you are very hot.

You are my very own sweet surprise,
I love to look into your eyes.

I love you more than anything,
Happiness to my life you bring.

I love the time we spend alone,
I can’t wait to get you home.

You are sweeter than a pop tart,
You will always have my heart.

You are hotter than a chili pepper,
I so glad God made me your helper.

My life with you is fine and dandy,
And I am thankful you are my eye candy.

My Love

You are the perfect man for this wife
I didn’t know how you would bless my life
The early days were filled with strife
But I always knew you were the love of my life
Many days filled with laughter and cheer
Those are the days that got us here
Jesus filled our hearts with love
And so many blessings from above
God blessed us with a little girl
Little did we know she would rock our world
We started living our lives for him
And then the blessings started pouring in
I’m so thankful to share this journey with you
You show me how you love me too
Through darkness, clouds, moons and sun
You showed me Jesus is the only one
For that I will always be grateful to you
Even when you make me blue
You are the father
The head of our house
Strong and bold
But never quiet as a mouse
Filled with love and compassion too
And I am so thankful for you
You know my heart like no other
You can look into my eyes and see my pain and when I suffer
You comfort me when I want to cry
And make me laugh until I can’t breathe
And join me on my knees to pray
For our lives everyday
You are the sugar to my spice
Even when I’m not nice
My love for you will never fail
Until the day we sail
Up in the clouds so high
To meet our heavenly father in the sweet by and by
