Believe with your Mouth

We say we believe with our mouth,
But is that really what comes out?

Do we only show it with our tongue?
And act like we just stepped in dung,
Are we only trying to cover the smell?
Instead of washing ourselves clean in Jesus well?

Do we put off the sweet aroma of Christ?
Or are we putting on spray to cover our life?

Are our hearts as cold as ice?
As behind our smile we try to hide?

The darkness of sin we are ashamed of.
Have we grown waxed cold of our first love?

Have we run away from the flock?
Have we forgotten God’s time clock?

Are we headed for the pits of hell?
Scared that someone else will tell?

Are we slipping and staying in sin?
And not allowing Jesus to come back in?

Again we say we believe with our mouth.
But I am asking you is that what really comes out?

Raining on Your Head

Why are you always complaining?
It’s like over your head it’s always raining.

Nothing is ever good enough.
No one can ever get it quite right.
It is doom and gloom every night.

Yelling and belly aching is your game.
You think everyone else is lame.

Don’t you know there is power in your words?
The devil is storing all your gripes in his reserve.

Every complaint you have,
He is waiting for an opportunity to grab.
Waiting in the darkness to take a stab,
At all those things that bother you,
Trying to keep you sad and blue.

Choose each morning to rise up happy,
Even if your hair looks a little crappy.

Speak your words with tender care.
Take your smile out and share.

Be a light to someone today.
Get on your knees and pray.

Ask God to take away your gripe.
Ask him to fill you with his light.

An Encouraging Word

An encouraging word
Needs to be heard by every ear that you hold dear
Sometimes life knocks you down
And you roll on the ground
As you start to cry
Someone walks by
And helps you up again
Tells you to look to him
When times are grim
Takes the time to stop and pray
And helps you make it thru the day
That could be enough
For you not to give up
Your life could be a mess
And you need to be blessed
By something so small
As a hug or a smile
Or sit for a while
Until you are better
